KILROOT REC SUPREMO WINS NATIONAL AWARD

Mervyn Smith the former chairman and stalwart of Kilroot Rec has received a prestigious national award from Barclays Bank UK. The award for "Local Heroes In Sport" was presented to Mervyn for his outstanding 30 years plus service to football, sport and the community in general. The award was presented in the mayors parlour Carrickfergus by Paul Davies from Barclays bank and was attended by Mervyns family, Mayor Mr David Hilditch and members of Kilroot Rec.
