Kilroot's seconds hit 6 over Bangor Amateurs

Kilroot Rec II 6 - 3 Bangor Amateurs II

NAFL  @ Beltoy

Bangor Amateurs II started of like a house on fire cutting through the Kilroot defence as if it was not there in the 6th minute and the 15th minute to move into a two-goal lead, a rare baptism for come back kid David Hall standing in for regular keeper Phillip Brownlee.
By the time half time had arrived Kilroot II deservedly had restored parity and some with the two goal advantage.
33 minutes Chris Armstrong’s corner ball was returned to him by a miscued clearance he promptly returned a rocked of a shot from a tight angle into the to top corner of the visiting goals and even the helping hand of a defender couldn’t keep it out, a stunning goal.1-2. 34 minutes good work down the right hand by Kilroot found Gary McCahon who picked out Chris Armstrong he hit a thunderous shot, a defender attempting to clear put the ball into his own goals. 2-2. 36 minutes Kilroot were in front from another Chris Armstrong corner cleared of the goal line by a defender only as far as brother Edd Armstrong to riffle the ball home. 3-2. 38 minutes Kilroot increased their lead with Gary McCahon getting a little assistance from visiting defence. 4-2. Second half started with a substitution by Kilroot, Neill Hall injured replaced by Colin (rubber legs) Adair. 54 minutes Kilroot went further ahead when a great solo run and shot by Man of the match Chris Armstrong cannoned of the Amateurs crossbar, young Glenn Mcauley following up tucked the ball past the stranded keeper. 5-2. 60 minutes Chris Armstrong who picked up an injury was replaced by comeback kid Andy Mearns continuing his rehabilitation course. 61 minutes a Barry Meek ball to Gary McCahon allowed the free running balladeer to cut inside and pick his spot from 15 yards.6-2. 0ne minute later Amateurs II pulled another goal back with childish simplicity by passing the static Kilroot defence. 6-3. That finished the scoring by both sides with Kilroot still having most of the possession but unable to put the icing on the cake.
