Kilroots crazy day out to Championship one side Institute in the third round of the intermediate Cup had a Magical mystery tour of a start to the journey
the bus that was delivering this valuable gathering of players broke down going up the Glenshane Pass about a mile from the highest pub in Ireland the Ponderosa.
In this moment of panic with a stricken bus at the side of the road the players in mass heading to the ponderosa some had cool heads signalled a passing Airport Bus
which amazingly stopped picked up the players and saved Kilroots day.

Institute presently fourth in Championship one wasn't going to be a walk over hence a defensibly structured team was sent out by manager Paul hanna.
Kilroot were on the back foot for most of the game surviving on the scraps of any mistakes Institute made.
Institute wasted two or three chances earlier in the game but A bright moment for Kilroot came on twenty minutes from a free kick taken by Jammie Sterling

Institute went ahead on twenty eight minutes when an off side appeal fell on deaf ears, a cross from the right squirmed across the six yard line evaded all the defenders to back post
where it was prodded into an unguarded net by Davitt Walsh.
On forty six minutes Dummigan who had picked up an hamstring injury last week had a reassurance of same and was replaced by invitational player Joel lough.
The game flowed on similar lines as did the first half with Paddy McLaughlin ex Derry City and Steven Parkhouse ex Glentoran keeping any Kilroot advance at bay.
Kilroots second sub and a very rare appearance for Jonnie McFetdrige who replaced Arran Davies on fifty five minutes.
seventy seven minutes Kilroots third sub jim (kipper) Thompson replaced by John (gary) Grant.
Kilroot had two more half chances one from a rocket of a free kick from Jamie Sterling which just went wide
and another when a long ball into box was chased by Man of match Paul Garvey who in challenging the goalkeeper in the box was harshly adjudged to have fouled the him.
All in all a great show against a team five divisions above Kilroot and a great day out for the management and players.
