KILROOT CHARGE CONTINUES

Saturday 6th March 2010

@ Beltoy

Kilroot Rec 3  v 1 Iveagh Utd

Rob Armstrong (2)

Andrew Dummigan.

Kilroot band wagon keeps rolling on despite a man of the match performance from Iveagh keeper Damian Nugent.

First three minutes McFetridge  was denied certain goals twice by Nugent.

A long Hagan kick out was picked up by Lough who outpaced the defence saw his shot come of Nugent who saved the rebound as well.

Iveagh took the lead on 14 minutes against the run of play with a well worked goal scored by Joe Dorian 0-1.

David Nugent should have doubled Iveagh lead on 31 minutes but inexplicably hit the post.

Kilroots Dummigan and McFetridge  between them couldn't get a toe to the ball on the goal line as it was cleared 44 minutes.

Joel Lough played in Dummigan who rasping shot was tipped round the post by Nugent

From a Lough corner Rab Armstrong unopposed tapped the ball home for Kilroots equaliser 52 minutes 1-1.

Kilroots first  sub surprise surprise Andrew Benson was replaced by Stuart Hamilton on 58 minutes.

Second sub Jonathan McFetridge replaced by Gary McCahon on 70 minutes

71 minutes Kilroot in front Rob Armstrong played in Dummigan who could have gone down in the box after a hefty challenge but stayed on his feet to slip the ball past Nugent 2-1.

Dummigan couldn't shake of the injury he picked while scoring his goal and had to be replaced by Cloakey on 80 minutes.

Nugent denied Lough a certain goal with a brave dive at his feet 85 minutes.

Rob McKee cleared a goal bound shot to deny Iveagh  86 minutes.

Relief for Kilroot on 90 minutes Braden found Lough on the right wing he stepped inside the full back and rolled the ball back to Armstrong to drive a daisy cutter past Nugent  from 20 yards 3-1.

after a great cross from rarely used Stephen McLean 0-1.
