KILROOT REC 2 v 0 BANGOR AMATEURS

Kilroot entertain lowly Bangor Amt at Islandmagee hoping to avenge a scoreless draw way back in August 2011 when more was expected.

Kilroot started of brightly with Ogilvie forcing a good save from the visiting keeper.

Kilroot tested the amt's again with Garvey unlucky assisted by Bingham and McFetdrige.

Ogilvie should have put kilroot in front on 25 minutes set up by Grant his lob just wide.

kilroot eventually got the goal their play deserved on 30 minutes Anderson or was it Davis got on the end of a Paul Thompson corner, McFetridge got the last touch on the ball

Gibb should have doubled Kilroots lead just before half time getting on the end of a great cross from Paul Thompson but somehow blasted the ball over the bar from yards out.

Kilroot took the narrow lead into second half ,Bangor Amt put Kilroot under a little pressure but Hagan dealt with anything that came his way.

Garvey finally sealed the game for Kilroot on 70 minutes when the young live wire was fouled 20 yards out , he stroked the resulting free kick into the visitors net with a little help

from a deflection.

Kilroot should have had a much more convincing win but the Amt keeper saved well from McFetdrige, Paul Thompson and Garvey

Man of the match or is it boy David Gibb who had an outstanding game.

BALLYWALTER REC II 2 v 3 KILROOT REC II

A long journey with a depleted team and a few caring knocks did not argue well for a good performance but perform they did

going a goal down in 23 minutes from a poorly defended corner ball.

Young Stephen McNair broke his duck for Kilroot on 38 minutes assisted by Wright, McAuley and old Brian Anderson.

Half time all square with both teams missing chances.

Barry Meek replaced the injured Danny Wright at half time.

Ballywalter went into the lead again on 64 minutes when a little ball watching cost Kilroot dear.

Paul lowery making a rare appearance for Kilroot replaced Dean Johnston on 70 minutes, went into goals for Gordon Priestly who in turn went to play up front

in this Walt Disney sponsored team.

Andy Mearns equalised on 77 minutes when Ballywalter failed to clear a corner ball mearns first to react.

80 minutes Gordon(Walter Mitty) Priestly should have scored at the back post from a pin point cross from Anderson.

88 minutes Priestly was felled in the box the referee pointed to the spot there was a slight hold up till Priestly was lifted of the ground

but this delay didn't deter Chris Blayney from sending the keeper the wrong way for the wining goal.

This was a great team performance and a credit to the managers for assembling such a team under the circumstances
